Warmth where you need it
The Thermagraph lining combines insulated zones with areas that are less padded. The 140 g insulation figure refers to that system, not an even layer across the whole jacket, so it is not a simple warmth comparison with another jacket’s fill weight.
This is still an insulated jacket, not a shell. A removable midlayer is useful for colder mornings, but you cannot remove the Thermagraph lining when the afternoon warms up.
Stretch fabric and weather protection
The two-layer infiDRY outer has stretch, fully taped seams and a water-repellent finish. Water-resistant zippers cover the main opening and chest pocket; the attached powder skirt adds a barrier at the waist.
Underarm vents provide direct airflow during warmer runs. The front zipper is offset near the chin, and the collar has a fleece lining plus small ventilation openings, useful details when you keep the jacket zipped high.
Hood, cuffs and pockets
The hood adjusts over a helmet. Wrist gaiters sit inside adjustable cuffs, and a hem drawcord lets you close the bottom without relying on the powder skirt alone.
Storage includes a phone pocket, a zipped pass pocket with a key clip, and internal space for goggles or a spare lens. The waist also has connectors for compatible 686 pants.
Where we suggest it
- Davos in February: Insulation suits the cold upper slopes, while the vents help on milder afternoon runs.
- Châtel in December: Taped seams and the waterproof outer suit frequent wet days; use a removable midlayer for the colder heights.
