Room for layers on colder slopes
Peak Performance cuts the Vertical to fit over base layers, midlayers, insulation and back protection. The dropped hem reaches below the hips, while shaped sleeves allow movement without relying on a very close fit.
With no insulating fill, the shell lets you add or remove warmth as the day changes. Carry a warm layer for cold lift rides, including on spring trips to high resorts.
A three-layer outer for changing weather
The 40-denier ripstop fabric combines a GORE-TEX Pro ePE membrane with a bonded inner backing. Fully sealed seams and a two-way AquaGuard front zipper complete the main weather barrier.
Underarm zippers provide ventilation. The helmet-compatible hood adjusts in height, width and volume, with a laminated brim; cuffs, wrist gaiters and a removable snow skirt help close the jacket when conditions turn windy or snowy.
Pockets and mountain details
Hand, chest and sleeve-pass pockets sit outside, with a zipped inner pocket and mesh storage inside. A goggle wipe is included, and the hem and cuffs adjust independently.
The jacket also carries a RECCO reflector. It helps equipped rescuers search for a wearer, but does not replace an avalanche transceiver or the other equipment and skills needed away from controlled slopes.
Where we suggest it
- Zermatt in April: The shell allows removable warmth, important when afternoon temperatures improve but the higher slopes stay cold.
- Cervinia in April: Keep insulation available for higher runs rather than dressing only for the milder part of the day.
