A shell with selected wool-backed areas
The three-layer construction includes merino-blend backing where Ortovox wants additional warmth. It is part of the fabric, not a removable liner or an even layer of synthetic filling.
Wear a base layer for the day’s temperatures, and add warmth for colder lift-served days as needed. The loose fit leaves room to move, while the high back of the waistband adds coverage without a full bib.
Snow, ventilation and edge protection
The waterproof fabric has a minimum 20,000 mm rating. Side vents provide airflow, and integrated gaiters have a nonslip inner edge to help them stay around the boots.
Dyneema-Cordura reinforcement protects the lower legs from ski-edge abrasion. Keep the fabric clear of sharp ski edges and crampons, which can still cut reinforced material.
Waist adjustment and pockets
Hook-and-loop adjustment and snaps let you set the waist fit. There is a zipped hip pocket and a pair of thigh pockets, keeping storage lower down rather than across your chest.
The right thigh pocket has extra space, an inner mesh section and a small attachment clip intended for a transceiver. Check the transceiver maker’s instructions before using the pocket or clip to carry your device.
